Stefano described on the stage of NOAH how ShopFully has built a global community of 30m users, raised more than €23m in investment and attracted retail giants such as Walmart, Woolworths and Carrefour as clients, by aggregating geo-localised deals for shoppers.
Despite the hype around e-commerce, 90% of retail sales still happen in-store meaning that the real challenge for retailers today is not only to grow the 10%, but to innovate for the 90%.
Similarly, 82% of smartphone users today say they consult their devices on purchases they’re about to make in-store. With smartphone penetration set to reach 70% of the global population by 2020, this presents huge and growing opportunities for retailers to drive both footfall and sales. For customers, meanwhile, it means timely, relevant and personalised information to make their in-store experience more efficient and pleasurable.
